Youth Ministry
The mission of the Elmwood Church of Christ Youth and Family Ministry is to partner with teens and their families in order to create space for God to build strong families and passionate, committed disciples who learn to love God and love others more and more each day.
Opportunities to Serve
Missions Stay
Think of this as a mission trip, but we are not leaving our Lafayette area. The Mission Stay provides our youth the opportunity to give back to the community and to learn about the needs of their surrounding community.
Bingo Nights
Our youth and their families enjoy the nights when they are able to host fun nights of Bingo and prizes for the residents at Tippecanoe Villa.
Retreats & Camps
Fall Retreat
Our youth take an annual overnight trip to Camp Tecumseh in the fall. The retreat provides the youth a chance to get away and make time to grow closer to God and each other.
Winterfest
Winterfest is a youth rally held on the third weekend in February in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. At over 12,000 Attendees, it becomes one of the largest gatherings of the churches of Christ in the United States.
Various Activities
Our youth enjoy various activities, such as monthly game nights, a yearly canoe trip down the Tippecanoe River, and an annual trip to Cedar Point, where they can have fun getting to know each other better.
Leadership Training for Christ
Leadership Training for Christ is an organization designed to stimulate and encourage spiritual, mental, and social growth among young men and women in grades three through twelve. Its mission is to achieve this growth by developing skills in leadership, Bible knowledge, and Christian service. Each year, Elmwood helps prepare students for the Midwest LTC conference that takes place in Indianapolis.
Rites of Passage
The Rites of Passage Experience is deisgned to help parents strategically pass down their faith to their teenager in an annual ceremony. Visit Their Website to gain the tools you'll need to carry out a Rites of Passage Experience each year including:
- A Planning Guide to walk you through the resources and the actually ceremony
- 2 Videos explaining the why and how of each Rite of Passage
- Kick Starters for Biblical family discussion time to lead up to the experience.
- Each year Rites of Passage will focus on the biggest milestone for the year and give you the tools to make this milestone one to remember.
