Joe Mathews
Joe Mathews has been a shepherd at Elmwood since 2002. He retired in 2011 from Ice Cream Specialties after 17 years of service. He and Joyce have been married since 1970 and have two daughters and 5 grandchildren. Joe enjoys reading and playing golf.
Joe Ruhl
Joe Ruhl has been a shepherd at Elmwood since March of 2009. He teaches biology, human genetics, and science research at Lafayette Jefferson High School. He and Gail have been married since 1981, and have two children and four grandchildren. Joe enjoys fishing, hunting, sports, reading (history or science), and teaching. His special interests include studying and teaching about the complementary nature of science and faith.
Josh Boyd
Josh Boyd is a new shepherd at Elmwood, but he has been part of the Elmwood church since 1998. He is professor of communication and director of undergraduate studies in the Brian Lamb School of Communication at Purdue University. He and Gina have been married since 1995, and they have two children. Josh enjoys traveling, reading, preaching, and bow ties.
David Hunt
David Hunt has been a shepherd at Elmwood since May 2019. He has taught biology at Lafayette Jefferson High School since 1987. He and Rose have been married since 1975, and have two children and two grandchildren. David enjoys science fiction, nature photography, collecting comics, long distance cycling, history, teaching, and gardening. His special interests include Biblical Studies, Christian Theology, and the History and Nature of Science.
Jim Jones
Jim became a shepherd in May 2019. He works as an engineer in Research and Development at Cook Advanced Technologies. He and his wife Teresa have three children and ten grandchildren. Jim enjoys golf, fishing, softball, reading, travel, and old movies. His special interests include electronics, computer programming, and music.
Ed Robson
Ed became a shepherd in 2019. He teaches history and coaches at Benton Central. He and his lovely wife, Michelle, have been married since 1995 and have three children. He enjoys reading non-fiction, sports, and traveling.

Elmwood believes in the importance of ministry to teens and their families. Elmwood keeps teens involved in worship and a variety of activities.

LIFE Groups
Elmwood’s Life Groups are made up of six to twelve people who meet each Sunday evening in homes. They provide opportunity for Bible study, fellowship, and community.

Hispanic Ministry
Elmwood enjoys interacting with and ministering to members of the extensive Hispanic community here in Lafayette. We have a Spanish class/service at 10:40a.m. each Sunday.
